Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates

Please read the following important information regarding COVID-19 Coronavirus

To ensure your safety and prevent the spread of COVID-19 within the community Point Walter Golf Course has developed a COVID Safety Pan.

The details of the plan are outlined below:

Golf

  • All bookings must be made online at pointwalter.quick18.com or over the phone by calling (08) 9330 3262.
  • Ball washers and bunker rakes have been removed from the course
  • Flag-sticks to remain in and a foam insert in the cup to raise the status of the ball once in the hole.

Club House Food and Beverage

  • Customer coming into the pro shop will be limited to 6 people at a time, with designated waiting spots marked “X”.
  • The Golfers Court is limited to 100 people at a time.
  • Any seated customers will be required to sign a register of their attendance at the venue
  • Only EFTPOS payments will be available

Social Distancing & Hygiene

  • All customers must keep their distance from other groups and practice social distancing by keeping 1.5 metres from other people in your own group.
  • For your safety and others around you we strongly recommend you download and turn on the COVID-19 app before attending our venue.
  • Remember if you are feeling unwell or showing symptoms of the flu, cough or cold to please remain away and we recommend you seek a COVID-19 test.
  • Hand sanitiser stations around our venue will are available for your use.
  • A strict daily cleaning regime has been put in place at the venue.
  • All team members have completed the AHA COVID-19 hygiene course.

Update - 02/07/2021

As per the State Government directive this afternoon, the Perth & Peel region can now proceed to the end of lockdown restrictions. However, as with previous lockdowns, we will have a staged return towards pre-lockdown conditions over the coming days.

From midnight tonight (12:01am Saturday 3 July), Perth and Peel will move to interim restrictions which will remain in place for three days, until 12:01am Tuesday 6 July.

Following that, pending ongoing health advice, some further transitional restrictions will remain until Monday 12 July.

This period is subject to change in line with revisions from the State Government over the coming days.

What does this mean for our Golf Course now?

Masks are mandatory and must be worn both on, and off the course.

The eased transitional restrictions from 12:01am, Tuesday 6 July include:

Masks

  • Mandatory indoors 
  • Not required outdoors where physical distancing is possible 

This is subject to change in line with Government revisions. We will continue to keep you updated as we work to maintain a safe and healthy community.

You must check-in upon entering our venue using the SafeWA app to support contact tracing. Download the SafeWA app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store now.

Update - 28/06/2021

As per State Government directive, we will be closed effective from 29-June to 02-July (inclusive) in line with the circuit-breaker lockdown.  

We will reopen on Saturday 03-July. The lockdown will be in place for four days at a minimum. More information to come pending revisions from State Government. 

Due to this temporary closure, please read below what this will mean for you, our members and users.   

By staying at home and limiting contact with other people, we can each help to protect the elderly, the at-risk, and healthcare workers and slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).  

Membership   

  • Your membership will be placed on a free suspension for the 3-day closure period.  

  • All future bookings you have made (for the closure period) will be cancelled.  

  • We will contact you once the advised temporary closure period concludes, or as directed by the Government.   

What does a 3 Day lockdown mean? 

Anyone in the Perth and Peel area are required to stay home, with four exceptions: 

  • To shop for essential items such as groceries or medicines 

  • Attend to medical or healthcare needs including emergencies, compassionate requirements, and looking after the vulnerable. 

  • To get vaccinated 

  • To exercise with a maximum of two adults from the same household, and limited to one hour per day, within a 5km radius from home. Masks must be worn except for vigorous exercise. 

  • Work, where you cannot work from home or remotely 

 

I booked in for a session. Will these run as planned? 
Unfortunately, not. Any booked sessions will be cancelled because we must close our doors from 12.01am on 28-June 2021 through to 11:59pm 02-July 2021. We will keep you updated on re-opening so you can start to train with us again.

Update - 26/04/2021

We are delighted to announce that Point Walter Golf Course and Goanna Mini Golf will re-open from 6.30am (Golf Course) and 9.00am (Goanna Golf) on Tuesday 27th April 2021.
 
As with all businesses we are, until 12.01am Saturday 1st May 2021, under certain COVID 19 restrictions as highlight in the following link: https://www.wa.gov.au/government/announcements/end-of-lockdown-perth-and-peel
 
We have sought further clarification this afternoon and the clubhouse, both indoor and outdoor, will be restricted to 20 persons, seated only, post either your game of Golf or Mini Golf.
 
We therefore ask you to respect these restrictions placed upon us and adhere to our staff instructions regarding our facility limits.
 
A reminder that Facemasks are compulsory at all times unless you have a medical exemption on the Golf Course, Mini Golf and in the Clubhouse.
 
Please continue to book golf and mini golf online.
 
We look forward to having our golfers back playing again tomorrow and hope that all restrictions will be lifted as soon as possible.

Due to this temporary closure, please read below what this will mean for you, our members and users.   

By staying at home and limiting contact with other people, we can each help to protect the elderly, the at-risk, and healthcare workers and slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).  

Memberships   

  • Your membership will be placed on a free suspension for the 3 day closure period.  
  • All future bookings you have made (for the closure period) will be cancelled.  
  • We will contact you once the advised temporary closure period concludes, or as directed by the Government.

  • Medical or healthcare needs, including compassionate requirements and looking after the vulnerable 
  • Exercise within their neighbourhood, but only with up to 4 other people and only for one hour per day 
  • Work, where you cannot work from home or remotely 

Masks must be worn in all public areas from 6pm tonight (23rd April).

Unfortunately, not. Any booked sessions will be cancelled because we must close our doors by close of business today 23rd Aril 2021. We will keep you updated on re-opening so you can start to train with us again.

Update - 05/02/2021

POINT WALTER GOLF COURSE & GOANNA GOLF REOPENING SPECIAL 6TH FEB 2021

We are delighted to confirm that subject to no further COVID 19 restrictions from the WA Government Point Walter Golf Course will reopen at 6am and Goanna Mini Golf at 9am on Saturday 6th February.

Please Note:

The following will be mandatory as per the post lockdown guidelines (https://www.wa.gov.au/government/announcements/transition-out-of-lockdown-6pm-friday-5-february)

  • Masks will be required to be worn in all public open spaces, this includes the car park, the golf course , mini golf course and in the clubhouse (until Sunday 14th Feb).
  • Safe WA registration, either by scanning the QR Code or via the manual register, is required for every visit to the venue.
  • Social Distancing is still required under the 1.5m Rule – please respect this especially around the service counter

In addition to the above please utilise the hand sanitisers around the clubhouse and practise good hygiene at all times.

Rest assured, we will continue to operate with COVIDSafe initiatives and practices in place to provide a safe experience in our venue.

This period is subject to change in line with revisions from the state government. 

Due to this temporary closure, please read below what this will mean for you, our members and users.   

By staying at home and limiting contact with other people, we can each help to protect the elderly, the at-risk, and healthcare workers and slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).  

Membership   

  • Your membership will be placed on a free suspension for the 5 day closure period.  

  • All future bookings you have made (for the closure period) will be cancelled.  

  • We will contact you once the advised temporary closure period concludes, or as directed by the Government.   

  • Watch for an email tomorrow with how to access our Home Fitness Network for FREE during the closure.  

What does a 5 Day lockdown mean? 

Anyone in the Perth metropolitan area, the Peel region and the South West region are required to stay home, with four exceptions: 

  • Shopping for essentials like groceries, medicine and necessary supplies 

  • Medical or healthcare needs, including compassionate requirements and looking after the vulnerable 

  • Exercise within their neighbourhood, but only with one other person and only for one hour per day 

  • Work, where you cannot work from home or remotely

Update - 18/12/2020

The State Government and health officials have imposed new border restrictions as a result of the growing  
coronavirus cluster in Sydney's Northern Beaches. Effective immediately (18.12.20) anyone travelling or 
travelled since Dec 11 from the NSW hotspot areas will need to be tested and self-isolate for two weeks. 
This includes visitors and residents returning home. 

For the health and safety of our guests and visitors we ask these restrictions to be followed. If you are  
feeling unwell or showing flu like symptoms to please get tested and not travel. If this impacts your plans or any planned visit to our venue, please contact our  staff to discuss your options.
